Summary: Mike is not too good at reading. He has a lot to difficulty reading words and distinguishing letters. He is in the low yellow group and he has to go to Miss Kent for help during recess. Mike thinks that he is dumb. One day, while at recess, Mike and his friend, Jim, see a box fall off of a truck. They run over and, together, figure out that the box says "explosives" on it. They tell the teacher and save the day.

Uses: Read-aloud to a class who may be having difficulties with bullying of other children with special needs, recommend to a slower learners so that they can see a positive role model.

Social issues: learning disabilities, children with handicaps

Other: This book is really, really old (1985) but it has a good storyline and moral to it.
