Just so you know I was not reading the Cliff Notes for this hundred-year-old classic. I enjoyed the book it was very colorful in its language about the society of the early 1900s in Nebraska. Just wasn’t as exciting as some of the books I’ve recently read.

This is an excellent summary and analysis of My Antonia by Willa Cather. It has the extra added bonus of having been written by Mildred Bennett who wrote the book on The World of Willa Cather and she explains why Cather wrote without plot, how she integrated a mythological framework, and even addresses some of the eccentricities of the spelling in the novel. This is a fantastic guide to this Great American Novel.
