. Well that was a bust. DNF at 69%. I just don't care. Mostly because I felt like the author was feeding me the story as I read it. Like a mouth full of literary pablum. She sets up a mystery by basically telling us who the bad guys are and why they did it. So where's the mystery???
Bored.
And it reads like the author was bored too.
Oh well, I still like this author and will have to try her witch series. Safety is good except for Gwen's past .
Loved the storyline and the characters couldn't put it down until finished so it's a well deserved five stars and I would recommend this book to everyone
Gwen and Mischa finally get their chance to push past all of the hell that happened to Gwen as a teenager, the only problem is; something bigger, something out of their control is doing it's best to keep them apart. Gwen works for the pack security company and knows something is wrong with one of the companies they've done work for, the police want her to stay out of it. Mischa knows she's right and wants to help her, but he also wants her to try to put her past behind her and complete their mating bond, knowing it won't be easy, he figures the best way to accomplish both agendas is to help her figure out who murdered her friend, all the while keeping her close and working his way into her trust and ultimately her bed. Steamy at times, down right hot at others Mischa gets Gwen all fired up by letting her take the lead, and for a dominant make aloha that's the biggest show of live he can give the woman he loves, the only question is will Gwen take it ? If you like shifter books, thrillers or who done its, you'll totally enjoy this book !! 4⭐'s
If, as another reviewer previously pointed out, I found this book was just boring, that would be okay. But, I didn't like how the author handled the fact that the heroine, Gwen, was raped. While her sister didn't know at first, she still kept pushing after she found out, because her mate would die if she didn't accept him. Who the fuck cares? If she wasn't ready, she has the right to handle things at her own fucking pace (can you tell I'm angry by all the f words?). Everyone kept pushing her to accept him, and open her mind to him, because he would die otherwise. Well she didn't feel okay doing either, sooo... Nope. Also, let's talk about the hero for a moment. He would be just bland and boring, if not for the fact that the second he was inside her mind as she slept and he saw her nightmare of her getting raped, he announced it to everyone who was in the room with him and that is also how the sister found out. Why would you fucking tell everyone that a person was raped, if they haven't given you consent to do so??? Okay, look, I understand that this is just a book and maybe I shouldn't get so worked up, but fuck that. In real life, sharing something so private and traumatic without the victim's consent is tantamount to them getting violated again. Why would you announce it to all and sundry? People need time to get over something like that. And it certainly won't fucking help if other people know and still push for them to create and sexually participate in a relationship, before they're ready to. Of course, yes, some victims deal with their trauma by having a lot of sexual relationships, but still it's their choice, THEIR CHOICE. And of course, in the book, he enters her mind without her consent, binds her memories of her rape, without her consent and they go on to have lots of sex and solve a boring murder. At the end of the book she still doesn't know what he did and she still remembers her rape, but not so vividly I guess??? I don't care. This author did not do a good representation of this kind of major trauma and I am not satisfied with the rest of the book either. That being said, I know books take a whole lot of effort and I appreciate her for trying. But in this day and age, we should do better.

I love this series so very much. Gwen is a native american shadow walker. She can open a shadow and move between places in a matter of minutes. She is also a lycan. She met her destined mate, but does think she can accept him due to a trauma when she much younger. It has taken her years to accept her own wolf, and she is still somewhat fearful of other lycans. Gwen works for a security company, and something is amiss. She must uncover the problem and deal with her destined mate, who has returned to London. Things are going to get rough. This was a great story and I loved the characters.
Misha and Gwen are two terrific characters. Gwen is trying her hardest to overcome a tragic past, and Misha is willing to do anything to help her, so that they can bond and be happy. Lovely Tale!
