Bestselling Author, Enitan Bereola II's chilling take on modern day dating and much more. The Gray is a sobering study of real relationships and where we went wrong. It is inspired by true events - only the names have been changed to protect the innocent. The saga is told through the lens of both victim and victor set to explore deep duality about human motive and why we disconnect as a culture, community and couples. It is the author's darkest, most beautiful, disgraceful, tragic, raw and gorgeous piece of art penned to spark a moral awakening, inspire intimacy and disrupt what you know about love. You are now entering the gray area... Watch your step.
Whew. Let me just say this—The Gray wasn’t just a read… it was a reckoning. From the very first page, I felt like I got hit in the chest. Emotionally, I was overwhelmed—but I couldn’t stop. I had to keep going. This book held a mirror up to me, and what I saw wasn’t always easy, but it was necessary.
Bereola don’t write to impress you. He writes to undress you. To make you sit in the uncomfortable. The unresolved. The in-between. That space where most of us live—but rarely talk about. And that’s what made this book so powerful.
I found myself texting passages to my closest friends mid-read. Like, “Yo, tell me this ain’t us.” Every chapter felt like it was written with my name on it. It wasn’t just a book—it was a conversation with my conscience.
I finished it in under a week… and then flipped right back to page one. Some books you read. This one? You study. I’ve recommended it to every friend, every brother, every woman trying to understand a man’s silence. Because The Gray is where we all meet at some point—and Bereola mapped it out with grace, fire, and vulnerability.
You don’t leave this book the same. And honestly? That’s the point.
I absolutely LOVED The Gray by Enitan Bereola II. What a great book to start the year off with my Fab Lady Bugs. The author could not get more real on dishing out the goods on how to stay out the Gray area in our relationships. I learned a few things, still have unanswered questions, and fee even better about some of the things I read. Relationships are not easy and definitely not perfect, but I am happy to know that I am on the right track in mine.
As a young man reading this at the age of 16 I learned a lot about what to look for in a relationship and what to avoid. It helped me stay away from many incidents where i might've ended up carrying some young girls baggage or distracting her from what she should be focused on, her future.
I've read the authors book Gentlewoman and it was excellent. I had high hopes for this book. From the moment I started reading to the instant I finished I was so invested in the story in how it paralleled with moments in my life. We all have moments of the Gray. This book shows those moments and some moments we are afraid to talk about. Excellent book.
I ran across this book, because a character in a book I was Reading was Reading this book "Did You think I'd Crumble" by C. Monet. This book is a eye opener, pushes you to self-eval, reflect, remove and re-event thyself. Very relatable. I am going to read this book again. It's like good seasoned food you have to chew slow and savour the taste. If you want realness and ready for change, new outlook and just real talk. PLEASE READ. GREAT BOOK, GREAT AUTHOR.
