The Franconian Cuisine (Fränkische Küche) is one of the most original ones in Germany and Central Europe. Well, that’s what my grandmother used to say. And remembering my childhood time, she and my mom cooked me the most wonderful dishes, I cannot do anything but agree. The recipes in this book are ones my grandmother over the years wrote down on her scratchpad she always kept in her kitchen desk. Some of the recipes are very typical for the surrounding villages, others she got from a friend she had when working as a maidservant on a farm when she was a teenager.
