Such trickery

I think Robin Hood is one of those morally gray characters we fall in love with in our lifetime. I mean, why not? He steals from the rich to help those in need. As an adult, I may have laughed off his method to trick the sheriff, but I guess the greater lesson we can teach children here is that when you are good to people around you, anything is possible.
