He avoided Malory Davers, now Nichols for the past ten. But when his father was injured and his parents couldn’t see him for the holidays, he went back to Piedmont and to the ghost of Malory.
Bond Mason hadn’t been in his hometown since right after he graduated high school. Now a famous guitarist, for the band Petri, and song writer, he came home for the holidays.
Coming home flooded Bond with emotions that he thought were long buried – alongside his relationship with Malory. But seeing her in the grocery store on Christmas Eve, stirred things even more.
Can Bond and Malory find closure or will they part forever wondering “what if”?
Bond and Malory are reunited after being apart for ten years. Can they rekindle the love they had as teenagers?
I loved the premise of this story, the second chance at true love aspect. I enjoyed the characters and the setting of the story. Being a Kentucky resident, the rapidly changing weather made perfect sense to me. :)
There were a few things that distracted me from the story, though. There were some grammatical errors that kept causing my brain to spin off in the wrong direction. I'm the kind of person that reads word for word. Im not a skimmer by any means. If there is one word that was accidentally not deleted when it should have been during an edit, its all my brain can focus on for several seconds. There were a few instances of this that caused a disruption in the flow of the book for me.
Also, I wish more details were given about the time Malory spends with her ex. Why were they together? Obviously, they were fighting, but why? Why doesn't Bond, or one of his parents, try to talk to her about what was apparently a very bad situation?
Overall, I did enjoy this book. It was a fast read with a sweet story. If you only have an hour or so to read, you should read this!
Quick read that tugs on the heart-strings. The glimpses into the past relationship of Bond and Malory helped me really relate to these characters. They were kids that weren't quite mature enough for the epic, once in a lifetime love they were given. Witnessing the inevitable draw that even so many years later draws them forever together is beautiful. I highly recommend this story of love and second chances.
Looking for an amazing story of love, loss and second chances! Book 2 in The Holiday Playlist is just that. My heart ached for Bond and Mal as they stumbled through life happy in love when they were young and then their path led them apart. Such pain and hurt were in store for them, would they recover, would they move on? This is an amazing read with the feels that I adored!!
