An insightful assessment of the current state of evangelicalism and the varied directions it is poised to take, from influential and expert contributors, including Alister McGrath, Eugene Peterson, Kevin Vanhoozer, Graeme Goldsworthy, I. Howard Marshall, Gregory J. Laughery, Stephen Lazarus, Robin Parry, Jonathan Ruthven, Christopher Wright, and Andrew West.
Craig G. Bartholomew (PhD, University of Bristol) is the H. Evan Runner Professor of Philosophy at Redeemer University College in Ancaster, Ontario, and the principal of the Paideia Centre for Public Theology. He founded the internationally recognized Scripture and Hermeneutics seminar and is coauthor of Living at the Crossroads and Christian Philosophy.
A collection of generally mediocre essays loosely gathered around the topic of evangelicalism future, written by theologians of various kinds.
Although there are a few essays that were excellent and worth the read on their own, i’m still undecided as to whether this reward justified reading through the majority of the essays that were substandard.
The particularly good essays: - Evangelicalism and the Church by Vanhoozer - Evangelicalism and Biblical Intepretation by I Howard Marshall - Future Trends in Mission by Christopher Wright
Overall not worth the read. Seek out the above essays through another medium.
