Very clearly written, so you don't have to sift through too much evidence to find what Hashim wants to say. The faint but noticeable reek of Malay chauvinism is rather repellent in Hashim's casual justification of the affirmative actions of the Malaysian state post-1969, but I suppose it's always interesting to see how other people view the world. Eye-opening to read these justifications normalised so nonchalantly. Certainly an education in the Malay(?)-sian worldview. Three stars for its clarity, although I'm tempted to give it two for my personal distaste at his views and the feeble grounds he uses to justify Malay political preponderance.
