The third book of the Hiwassee series continues the story of the Madison Curtis family beginning and ending with the unique relationship between Rebecca Curtis and Hamby. I've increasingly enjoyed the series--the story telling and character development. Looking forward to the fourth and last of the series, "Where the Water-Dogs Laughed."
I read this book because I am on a North Carolina history jag. One chapter into this gem and I knew it was one of the good ones. For me, this book was about what it means to live and die according to one's true nature.
