Light Falling

A delightful story based on those "certain poor shepherds" who first heard the news that Jesus had been born. Stimulated by an incident in his boyhood when the director of his church nativity play remarked that the shepherds had no names, Ed Renn changed all that. He gave them names and faces and families and feelings. In this delightful little book he reminds us that our lives can turn on a single extraordinary event.

This book is very special to me, very near and dear to my heart in the most spiritual of ways. It sat on my shelf quite a while but when I finally picked it up, I read it straight through, nonstop in one sitting. It had everything I desired in a book, action, accurate historical accounts, love, plot twists, tears, and redemption. It shed a very new light on a very old and timeless story, bringing the setting and characters to vivid life for me and renewed my interest in the holy story in a more adult way than the childhood version I had grown up with. I think this book is fantastic, for anyone, as Mr. Renn is a consummate story teller spinning a world where you can immerse yourself completely. I give copies to all of my loved ones as Christmas gifts!
