This book was a great introduction to fishing and got me hooked on the topic (no pun intended). It was nicely illustrated and covered the whole gamut of freshwater fishing. Ironically, the positives are also the drawbacks - this book covered fish only found in fresh water bodies throughout Europe and Asia in addition to fish in the US/Canada. Also, because he tried to span so much, the information was sparse at times. I especially liked the pages about fish habitats and behaviors. My favorite fish were perch and brook trout. My least favorite were eels. I was most fascinated by muskellunge and sturgeon.
