A Pack of Scoundrels
The sequel to “Buck the Tiger” Butte, Montana is poised on the verge of a copper boom. The scent of money draws the unscrupulous like blood draws wolves. Gordon Fox, a man reclusive and arcane, has been drawn in with the intent of establishing a criminal organization that will take control of the copper market. Bella Priest, the New Orleans assassin, is following the scent to Butte with her entourage of scoundrels. Fox has recruited Bella for his partner, but Bella has plans of her own. Fred Pickett hires Virgil Creede to secretly carry documents to Butte to finalize his investment in a huge copper prospect. When Virgil is attacked in an effort to steal the documents, and an attempt is made on Fred’s life, Virgil sets out to find who is behind it. Pinkerton Agents Hawkes and Greene begin digging into the swirl of mysteries surrounding the attacks. What they find boils down to one unsettling impression, the Chicago syndicate they crushed three years previously is not as dead as they thought.

115 books40 followers I have been a writer of adventure novels of the Old West. I have now branched out to writing contemporary crime novels with a suspense/mystery base. What I feel makes these unique is that they are set in the modern West and Alaska, as opposed to exotic world and big city settings. They involve average people and local law enforcement agencies.
My writing influence comes from my ancestral roots. Mountain men, voyageurs, pioneers, and explorers make up the branches of my family tree. My paternal grandfather was Blackfoot Indian from Montana. My maternal grandfather was a Minnesota lumberjack, both men were born in the 1800’s.
As a lifelong outdoorsman I have inherited that pioneer blood and followed in the footsteps of both my families. I have experienced life in the Alaska bush, as well as the wilderness of the Rocky and Cascade Mountains, as a working cowboy, guide, horsepacker, hunter, and trapper.
I also spent several years as a Colorado Deputy Sheriff. This experience in the law enforcement field allows me an intimate insight to the system that I weave into my new crime genre stories.
I incorporate all of my experiences into my stories to ingrain them with authenticity and draw the reader into the story by their realism and a personal knowledge of the people and lifestyle involved.
I have near to 500 fiction and non-fiction works published. Included are: 19 novels and short story collections, 70 short stories, and inclusion in 18 anthologies. I am the first 3 time winner of the Will Rogers Medallion Award, in 2008 for Best Western Fiction, and again in 2013 for Best Western Humor, and 2014 for Best Western Novel. Nine of my short stories have earned Reader’s Choice Awards.

A DPF. Montana Western Action Adventure (APOS) (AVCN - 2)
DPF. has penned a western action adventure titled, "A Pack Of Scoundrels" which begins with an old nemesis from New Orleans entering the Butte, Montana area intending to start another syndicate. VC knows the woman, but soon realizes that he is fighting his corrupt brothers. The three start their murderous schemes and soon kill the wrong person the VC puts his guns on. The fights ensue across the Montana landscape. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

A Pack of Scoundrels
This book was outstanding (as are each of Mr Fisher's other books) ! I really enjoyed trying to keep up with the plot, plus trying to remember who was who, at which point! Again, it has all the marks of a very good book; a trademark of the author's writing style !

Good book
A surprise twist near the end makes many plot elements vs make sense. Hate that Horace was killed. An interesting a d very likable character. HEA

Great storyline and writing!
What a great book! I loved this one even if it had a horrible happening in it! Wish there were more to follow in this series!

Complex ploting
This isn't a bang bang shoot 'm up cowboy book by any means.
I enjoyed the complexities, the intricacies, the well rounded characters.
