We learn a lot more about Mark Landry and his growing family in the edition. The book was a very quick read and hard to put down. The ending came up quickly as I expected more loose ends to be tied but what would a good series be without something to look forward to in the next edition Contempt of Court.
The writing is top notch. It fast paced but not overwhelming so. The plot goes long nicely but the ending feels like a cliffhanger of your favorite tv show and now you are left waiting for the next book.
Little slow, used a technique I despise of starting off with a chapter that actually happens toward the end of the book, and then pulled the old "four weeks earlier" crap in the next chapter. Really? I like preludes to set up a story, but the old flashback routine gets my goat! Plus, the entire chapter was repeated later in the book. Filler?
I like these characters, really liked the first book, stories are good, lots of action, but please skip the gimmicks. Oh and the very brief dash of sexually explicit action was not really necessary either.
I had high hopes for this book because I love the first Landry book. Sadly, this crashed and burned. The plot never developed and suddenly ended with little closer. I think the plot picks up in the next book, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I am very let down. The book ends just when it gets going. It was like going out to dinner only to find do out the restaurant does not serve dessert anymore. Really disappointed!
An excellent read by veteran-turned-author, Randall H. Miller. This author was new for me, so I ended up reading Book 2 in the Mark Landry series. An incredible mix of government intrigue, Russian mob, German intelligence, and of course action. The story moves along fast. I will pick up Book #1 and Book #3 and follow this author's development as a write.

Great storytelling and very well written. His depiction of the interpersonal interactions is as well done as his action sequences. Can’t wait for the next one!
I love Mark Landry and the Imperium team. I cannot wait for the next adventure! Randall H. Miller has produced this series that reads like a James Patterson novel!
I really like this series! This book is best if the first book, Wrong Town, is read first. Mark's relationship with his mother is building and I can't wait to learn the secrets. Will there be a problem with meeting up in Berlin with his former lover? What about his contract with Senator Johnson? So many questions to be answered. Eagerly awaiting the 3rd book in August!!
