It began simply enough. Breeze’s old friend knew right where the gold was. All he had to do was pick it up. He enlisted Holly for her diving skills. The mission would only take a day. That’s not how it turned out. First it was the shark. Then it was the curious golden idols. Then it was the ex-con treasure hunter. Holly’s patience wears thin as Breeze drags her deeper and deeper into turmoil. Can their tenuous relationship survive? Can Breeze turn the mission around? Will he live long enough to make them all rich? Follow Leap of Faith and Another Adventure from the west coast of Florida, to the Keys, and Costa Rica. Watch the deal go down in a seedy section of Miami. One hard man will leave with millions.
I'm a big fan of Robinson's books, and the just get better as the Trawler Trash series continues. Nothing beats a good caper combined with the blue-green waters of the Florida keys and the Caribbean. Robinson understands human nature, and it's limitations, as well as he does the nautical byways in which his tales are set. Treat yourself to a good read with this fine author.
True Breeze: Trawler Trash Series Book 7 is by Ed Robinson. Ed seems to be putting more of himself in these later books. He and Breeze are becoming more of the same person. This book deals with Breeze and treasure hunting. Breeze visits his old friend Shirley. Shirley is 80 and lives alone on her boat. She wants Breeze to help her re-find and bring up gold and treasure that she found. She Breeze wants to give her daughter money to make her secure. To prove her claim, she gives him two ingots of god she had found. He decides to go get the rest of the gold for her and sell it for her. He gets Holly to go along with him to pick it up as she is a great diver. It is supposed to be a snap. Holly gets disillusioned fast. When they get to the spot where the gold is, they have to contend with the current, the deep sand, the weather, and a shark! His newly furbished boat is rigged with a blower for the sand. However, the blowing sand brings the shark! Will they recover the gold?
I love this series of books because the characters were so real and likable .the reason I love the books is because they all took place in Miami and the keys and I have spoke I was born in Miami and spent time in the keys a lot especially in Key Largo and Key West and I had spent some time in the Cayman Islands to so it was an exciting series to read and I look forward to his newest book number eight which he is working on now
I really like this guy Breeze. He is a real adventurer, loves life and takes a day at a time. He is exciting and so are his friends. He is a true story teller. This is the second book of this this series, and not in order, of Ed Robinson, that I've read. I wish to read them all. The books are exciting, don't want to put them down, has romance, mystery, comedy and other cool stuff. Wish I could be invited to have a drink on the trawler with Breeze.
I have read all the books in this series and every one of them has been good. I have always felt that the author has written the story based on some of his own experiences while cruising and the people he has met. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in the live aboard lifestyle
This was my favorite book in the series so far. As usual, an easy read. However, this book stands out as the author sticks to one adventure for the entire book vs a bunch of disjointed mini-adventures. Great story about recovering sunken treasure.
The more if these I read, the better I like them, I like series with repeating characters, still having trouble with all the locations but I am not familiar with Florida and places in tbe book.
This was a really fast paced read. Breeze had a lot going on in this story which constantly kept it moving. There were a few surprising twists and the ending wasn’t what I expected.
Everybody likes to cheer for the underdog. Breeze is a drifter of sorts who always stirs up trouble and always comes out of it. A pretty lady here and there adds drama and interest... What man doesn't have a fantasy life?
Friend's are hard to come by. Some are true some not so much. When the $ gone and the weeds smoked who's left? For you to decide. Be true to who's left. Rock on!
