3.5 stars -- This is not a bad book; chapter three seriously cracked me up! But as a book published in 1973, it dates itself. The illustrations reflect the style of the 70s, and references to such things like the song "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head" also reflect the time period. Otherwise, this is a diary of an unnamed girl who is about 12. Each chapter is a diary entry, and there are eight chapters. None of them are really cohesive, though, or seemingly chronological. And the ending is just done. Like that.
