A refreshing treatment on the "gifts" in contrast to contemporary emphases. The table of contents alone is worthwhile in this regard. There is much solid theologizing, but very little exegesis. When the author did show his work, there he was the strongest.

What a thorough treatment of the person and work of the Holy Spirit. Especially helpful was how Vaughn presented the progression of the work of the Spirit, starting with the unbeliever. This is a great antidote to the many misrepresentations of the Holy Spirit so prevalent today.
