I've had one knee partially replaced and I want to put off surgery to the other one as long as possible, so when this book came through my hands at the library, it was being returned from being out on interlibrary loan, I was curious.

Chloe Wilson writes in a jargon-free straightforward style and includes basic illustrations of the exercises. The first half of the book (pages 1-49) includes information on what knee arthritis is, what's happening inside the joint, causes of osteoarthritis, diagnosis and symptoms, and treatment options including alternative medicine followed by a section on diet and exercise.

The second half of the book (pages 50-100) is devoted to surgical options including knee replacement (both partial and total), when surgery is appropriate, preparing for surgery, explaining what happens during and after surgery, then recovering afterward with goals and exercises.

Conclusion: It's a slim volume written in an engaging and easy to read style and the exercises are achievable. The information is both practical and helpful.

Knowledge Is Power

I have recently been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my knee. I needed clear, thorough, but concise information to help me decide next steps regarding therapy and self care. This book was exactly what I needed! It contains helpful information about osteoarthritis of the knee, supplements, suggested exercises and much more! I highly recommend it to anyone with this condition.
