A thoroughly enjoyable read. I went to Woodroffe School, opposite the former Lyme Regis Station site and often ran home to Seaton along an approximate route of the line as far as Combpyne. The book brought the line back to life in my mind's eye and I even went and revisited the line to do another run, some 10 years after I probably last did it.
The only downfall of this book was the final few pages, which are effectively lists and breakdowns of specific railway operations and procedures. Hard going, even for those like myself who have worked in a railway environment. But fascinating nonetheless and no doubt of interest to modellers and railway historians. Until that point, this was a certain 5 star read.
