5 Stars, Reader's Favourite and Global Ebook Awards 2017 The Prophet Lailoken sighed. This would be his last vision to share. The last words he would speak. The vice like grip tightened around his heart. Wait a little longer, they must know; remember and prepare. On the world of Cerahya, nature’s harmonious balances and checks have been disturbed; interfered with. She rails against such abhorrent intrusions and struggles to regain order. Unfortunately re-establishing control unleashes deadly, calamitous events on the island continent of Sofala, catching the inhabitants of the western kingdom unaware. The High King, Gareth Beaumont calls for assistance from the Ashmourne Academy of Magic. They respond by sending their infamous 'Pace Alastriona Knights', led by Commander Atesh and Captain Ballard. Their first battalion of magic-enhanced, ale-swilling, knuckle-busting, gag-pulling, sword-dancing, fierce warrior misfits join forces with the King's personal regiment. Together with mystical allies, they race to reduce the fallout to life, love and liberty upon their homeland. As they search for the source behind the malevolent machinations at work, they uncover truths so repugnant, it will send them reeling. Will interpreting the strange riddles and finding the ancient prophecy hold the key to the game of life; playing out before their eyes?

About the author

Kerry Alexander-Hall

Kerry's grew up in rural New South Wales, Australia. Her 35 year career was within various fields of the Nursing Profession. With a history of writing academic papers, organising Professional Health Care Workers educational programs, lecturing and studying, you could be forgiven for thinking Kerry is only a serious scribe, but the truth is; you would be wrong. It was on those poor souls in her lectures and workshops where she fine-tuned her wicked nurse’s sense of humour. Kerry believed that learning should be fun.
Having retired early due to illness, she set her mind to her second love; the fiction novel. She researched and devoured any information on writing a novel. She loved the ideals of the Indie Author. Then she commenced her internship by combining those new ideals with her academic knowledge and applying it to reviewing, critically evaluating, mentoring and finally substantive editing;( Pro-Bono of course).
The Tales of Cerahya; Book 1-Morphids, is the first of many Kerry hopes to write. She now resides in a quiet sea-side community in Tasmania, Australia with husband Ken and their fur-baby Molly. Here, Kerry has the best of both worlds, country living and the beach. Her only nemesis is ‘the spider’.

Morphids (The Tales of Cerahya Book 1) by Kerry Alexander-Hall

The Prophet has spoken and order must be restored to the land. The King calls for help in bringing upon this task. Commander Atesh and Captain Ballard, along with their Battalion are ready to go. Many challenges await as they try to carry out their task. Facing obstacles, and danger they are determine to succeed and bring order and balance back again.

An original plot, moving at a steady pace with likable characters. Rich in detail and dialog, I felt as if I was pulled into the story. Many surprises await and adventure at every turn, I was hooked from the first page. I highly recommendMorphids to those who love a great fantasy/adventure.

Is this really the author's first novel? I was so impressed with the intricate plot weaving and world-building. This book has everything: action, adventures, surprises, twist and turns, multiple storylines and relatable characters. Hey, I can't reveal any of Morphids secrets here, but safe to say that I was laughing, crying and reading late into the night as I eagerly devoured this exciting tome. It's a sizable tale of George R.R. Martin proportions, which might explain why there's only one so far. I have contacted the author and am reassured there are more works in progress. Yay!
My favourite characters are Atesh the female warrior, and also Ciaran, the dragonelle who is her companion. I really enjoyed their relationship and can't wait to hear what will happen in the next instalment.
Well done to Kerry Alexander-Hall for this fantastic new addition to the fantasy genre.

If you want all emotions to spring forth then this is the book for you. It will make you cry one minute and side splitting laughter the next. You will feel pride and then outrageous anger. Confusion and then enlightenment. Al this packed into 1 book. So well written this book although a first for Kerry is a work of art. You will travel along side of Commander Atesh and her elite soldiers as if you were one of them. Experience their joviality and their comradeship. You will become apart of their family as the adventures unfold as foretold by The Prophet. There are so many favourite parts to this novel that it is hard to choose just one favourite. All I can say is if you only read 1 fantasy book a year (but I sincerely hope you read more) then this is the book to read. A book that will hold you spellbound to the very end and wanting more.

I'm a slow reader and this is certainly value for money, being a whopper of a read. It was a genre I have never read before, but what made it so good for me was the author's ability to write scenes that often had me crying with laughter. It reminded me of a classic "Seven Samurai" or "Magnificent Seven" type of band, mixed with Lord of the Rings, within a clever plot and world that blew my mind. How can anyone write this? Brilliant. Loved it. Looking forward to the next one.
