As a Michigander, I loved this book! It was sweet, romantic and the characters were great! I found this book to be very detailed with great character depth and I love the small town charm feel to this book, which makes me want to read the rest of the books in this series. I cannot wait to read the second book after this book. The author did a great job of the historical context too, which made this book that more enjoyable and I found Beth to be someone relatable. Overall, I think this book is a great romantic story and I highly recommend this novel. It is a quick, lite and lovely read. I give this book 5/5 stars. A favorable review was not required and I was given a copy by the author for my honest review.

I borrowed Snow Country from the Kindle Unlimited program.
The UP as the Upper Peninsula of Michigan is known is the setting for Snow Country. This area gets normal winter snow storms and daily snow coming off Lake Superior. Beth Dawson travels to visit her Grandmother, meets a local State Trooper, Danny Johnson and learns to love the people in the community, how close they are and how they support one another. She also finds love with Danny although they come from different backgrounds and environments and have differing ideas to work through.
Snow Country held to Christian principles, was set in a beautiful place in winter and the plot slowly evolved as each character faced their problems, changed ideas and found the grace to love one another.

This is a good, clean Christian romance and characters that are fully developed. Beth is amazing in her devotion to her grandmother and places her needs above everything else.
Since I was born in Michigan, I enjoyed reading about familiar places, especially the beautiful UP and Copper County.
I did not think it was a page turner, but nevertheless, it had a very good plot and was an enjoyable read.

This was an amazing book! As a young Christian women I really understand where the main character, Beth, is coming from. I loved how it incorporated the culture of the Upper Peninsula as well! Highly recommend!

An east, pleasant read, “Snow Country” is about relationships with God and one another. Beth, after her fiancé ends their engagement shortly before the wedding, goes to visit her grandmother in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where she meets Danny and a whole community of people who change her life.

Enjoyed reading this romance that takes place in the Keewanaw Peninsula of Michigan. I don't usually read romances and while it was predictable, it was a fun book.

Beth Dawson was recently jilted by her fiance shortly before the wedding in California. To help deal with the heartbreak she feels, Beth heads to Michigan to visit her grandmother. Not only does she enjoy time with her grandmother, but Beth also meets a young attractive state trooper. Her mother wants her to stay single and to help her Grandmother to move to California. What does Beth want? Can Beth heal and move on in a new direction? Is it too soon? What about her rules for Christian courtship?
I enjoyed Snow Country and read it within a couple of days. Kristin Neva writes a novel that left me turning the pages quickly to find out the answers to those questions and more. I don't want to share the answers to those questions and spoil the plot. For her first novel, I think Neva has done an excellent job in drawing the reader in and making them feel at home with a lot of fun, lovable characters. I also liked that this novel offers history and information on the Upper Peninsula region of Michigan region.
Snow Country is book one in A Copper Island Novel series. I am looking forward to reading book 2A: Aimee and Russ's story that is due to be out this summer. I especially enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys Christian romance and historical/regional novels.

Overall I like it and it read quickly. Story was a little fast moving, which made it seem less plausible.

December 30, 2016What a fun read. A sweet romance that explores the law and the spirit of Christian dating while giving the reader a taste of life in upper Michigan. Debut author Kristin Neva writes from the heart. Her characters are endearing and there are just enough surprises to keep you reading. I had no idea Finnish culture thrives in the cold regions of upper Michigan. Or that outdoor saunas were still part of everyday life there. I felt like I was tasting the food and experiencing the long cold winters as I followed Danny and Beth while they unraveled and created knots in the threads of their budding romance. I laughed out loud and read the passage to my hubby where police officer Danny Johnson pulls over Californian Beth Dawson for driving too slow in the snow. There were other hilarious moments with some of the delightful secondary characters who populate the fictitious town Quincy, Michigan.

This was a sweet romance. An excellent portrayal of the Copper Country. And also an excellent story of one young woman's recognition that we have all fallen short and need forgiveness.
