Discover Biology

Rate this book
From news reports about cloning and DNA fingerprinting to referenda on the teaching of evolution, biological issues surround today's students. Rather than inundate them with a encyclopedic treatment of countless facts and terms, Michael L. Cain, Hans Damman, Robert A. Lue, and Carol Kaesuck Yoon emphasize the understanding of essential biological concepts in meaningful contexts. Written specifically for students taking one-term, nonmajors introductory biology courses, Discover Biology focuses on basic concepts and real-world applications of biology, enabling students to intelligently approach issues they will read about in the paper, vote on in elections, and face in their own lives.

The concepts were explained in a clear and concise manner with very few errors. Overall, a nice book if a bit long winded.
