Should David Kill Saul

Rate this book
Did you know that the wisest man ever, Solomon and the Son of God, Our Lord Christ Jesus, gave the exact same guidance as their last words of instruction to mankind? Would you care to guess even upon the theme of these words? This teaser will be answered shortly. First, as a background to the initial clues which will be used while examining the title question some broad thoughts need illumination. An understanding of what David did, how he performed, and then how might have behaved when he interacted with Saul in the time period between his anointing by Samuel and his crowning as the King of Israeli will be pondered in due process. Broadly, can you know the will of God personally and if you can, could you then know the will of God for David, Saul or for anyone else?
To begin to understand what David should or should not have done leads directly to God’s will and understanding what that means. However, God’s will is unexplainable without an understanding of man’s free will. God’s will and man’s autonomy are directly linked. Should David have killed Saul? The answer to this seemingly simple question is found within God’s amazing decision to grant man profound amounts of mental freedom.
