Hyde, Douglas. A literary history of Ireland, from earliest times to the present day. New edition with introduction by Brian O Cuiv. London: Ernest Benn, 1980, xlii, 654p, index. Very good to like new in dust jacket. The book was originally published in 1899 and O Cuiv revised it in 1967. This is the second impression of the 1967 edition.

One of the Best Irish History books of all time, period. The author (Douglas Hyde) was the first President of Ireland and took great care in relating the history of his own country in this book. Spanning a huge period of time, this book had a huge amount of information in it. The author did a great job sewing in his ideas and opinions into the book will keeping neutral. If you are into ancient Irish history, and or druidry this is a great book to have. On a side note it is a hard book to find, and by no means cheap.
