A classic crime story peppered with plenty of noir tropes and dark humor. A determined antique dealer, a bored junkyard worker, and an inquisitive porn star join forces as they follow the tortuous trail of a long-dead sailor. Written and drawn by Philippe Riche ( The Alliance of the Curious ) in his trademark loose yet graceful line.
Enjoyable if a bit anticlimactic. A fun setup with intrigue and humor. I don't mind the second half from a story perspective, but the connecting tissue between all the plot points felt a bit loose and rushed over. And there was so much focus on older events that the main characters' stakes started to fade a bit.
Story flows really well and the artwork is loose but stylish. Kind of unnecessarily vulgar in parts for me, and the plot is way out there. We'll see if it's resolved coherently in volume 2.
