Then a chance encounter brings Lincoln Montgomery into her world. Fearful that the man she’s fallen in love with will discard her if he ever learns the truth, she vows to keep her secrets buried. But what happens when the love of two lifetimes is confronted with the dark secrets that could destroy them both? Can Lincoln and Nicole both survive their pasts and forge a future together, or will one final secret destroy their love for good?

I just happened on this book in NetGalley. I am so glad I requested it and got it. I don't usually read doctor stories. Most seem to be cut and dry. That sure isn't this book. I wound up with the tissue boxes in my lap! I liked that the story lines ran all over the place. First I lose Elizabeth along with Lincoln. Then he meets Nicole three years later. She is shocked and he jumps back into life with his friends. I like all the football games. I am glad you rolled over Florida. I am a FSU fan myself! About the time they get free with each other along comes Aubrey and out come the tissues. I just lost when Nicole and Lincoln misunderstood listening to each other. I had to get up and walk away several times. I am an old softly. There are surprises all over this story. Don't let this book get away! I hope I can read your next book. I volunteered to read and review this book.
This was a really decent debut novel. The beginning painted Lincoln's pain at losing his wife. He struggled to get through his everyday, let alone move on romantically.
One day he sees a beautiful woman on a golf course and something within him changes.
But Nicole turns out to have baggage herself and nearly ruins what they find together. It is what she does to Lincoln and her daughter Aubrey that I thought less of her as a person. Another little piece that buvged me was when Nicole was told he loved her more than he did Elizabeth. I felt like that took away from what he had with his deceased wife.
All in all a good story about moving on from the pain of the past.
This was my 1st book written by BK Harrell.. I have to say this was a very good book.. I was not disappointed with it.. I loved in the beginning that he mentioned University of Georgia because that one of my favorite colleges. Must read everyone.. ☺
This was a first for me by this author and her first novel. I loved this story. It had everything that a good story needs. Love, heart break, second chance at love, out of the world accomplishments, more heart break, family bonding and finally the true chance at love. This book will have you hoping, crying, laughing, cheering, saying a few curse words, and wanting to throw your reader. Please have tissues ready for happy and sad tears. The author has a way with words that makes her characters come alive for you and all the places they travel and do, wow! I am hooked and will be looking for the next book.
I really loved the story and the different characters. With the multiple twists in the story - you never new what would happened next.
I must mention that the way it was written it felt sometimes as a child tried to write/behave as an adult. I don't mind the slow start, but the way it was written bothered me. If there had been a better flow in the writing, this would have been a 'five star' review. Now it's only a 'four star'.
Do not let the way it was written stop you from reading this book. Hopefully the author develop the way of writing. I will give it one more try, since the story was wonderful.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Love it.This is the first book ive read by this author and i want more i loved this book had me hooked right from the start.Kept me guessing all the way through every time i thought i knew what was coming it changed again go get it a wonderful book recommended to all
This is the first book in the Doctors of Atlanta and first that I have read from this author. It was a very slow book but very worth it. Lincoln will hit you right in the feels. and Nicole will make you cry and want to throat punch her at the same time. I can't wait to read the next one.
A story about love, loss and finding the right person to make you whole again. The book showed that a real man has emotions and isn't afraid to love again after a horrible loss. The two characters find strength in each other, and their HEA. I took a star away because the story was written in 3rd person and I felt it took away a bit of my connection to the characters.

Author BK Harrell weaves a wonderful romance set in Atlanta, Georgia, that follows the chance meeting of Dr. Lincoln Montgomery and Dr. Nicole Harris. Lincoln and Nicole's unexpected connection will lead them on a journey towards rebuilding their lives, and getting a second chance at finding love. You can't help but become captivated by this engaging story filled with the challenges of overcoming traumatic pasts, dark secrets, family drama, life struggles, misunderstandings, and small sacrifices, as Lincoln and Nicole take a chance at forming a bond that could teach them how to love again.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention how much I enjoyed the nice mixture of the medical and college football sports romance themes. The intriguing romantic twists and turns easily kept me engaged and guessing, while the rich descriptions of the college football games that were included in the story kept me thoroughly entertained. What a great first book in a brand new series, I can't wait to read the next book!
In The Infertile Heart, broken hearts and traumatic life experiences can be put in the past when given a second chance at love through the healing spirit of this touching and soul-stirring medical / sports romance story.

This is a great story of finding love after loss and overcoming a painful past. BK takes you into the minds and hearts of the characters, drawing you in from the very beginning. The characters are very well rounded with a rich story line the entire way through. I cannot wait to see what happens in book 2!
