A haunted apartment. A decades-old massacre. A killer who never left.
When ghost hunter Harry McCabre takes on what should be a routine haunting, she never expects to find herself tangled in a murder case dating back thirty-five years. But the spirits of Brunskill Manor aren’t just restless—they’re warning her.
As Harry digs into the infamous Christmas Eve Massacre, where an entire family was slaughtered and the killers vanished without a trace, she’s shocked to run into her ex-boyfriend, Scotland Yard Inspector Darian Watley. With his past tied to the case in ways he never imagined, and Harry’s associate, the ever-dapper Jarrett Zephyr-Thornton, along for the ride, the trio soon finds themselves knee-deep in ectoplasm—and danger.
But the past isn’t done with them yet. When Harry uncovers a chilling secret, she goes from ghost hunter to hunted—because the murderers never disappeared. They’re still out there. Watching. Waiting. And this time, they intend to finish what they started.
Fans of paranormal mysteries, thrilling twists, and sharp-witted investigators will love Public Ghost Number One!
Nic has a background in political science and before being struck by the writing bug worked odd jobs around the world (including but not limited to massage therapist in Mexico, gardener in Italy, restaurant manager in India, and Berlitz teacher in Belgium).
When he’s not writing he enjoys curling up with a good (comic) book, watching British crime dramas, French comedies or Nancy Meyers movies, sampling pastry (apple cake!), pasta and chocolate (preferably the dark variety), twisting himself into a pretzel doing morning yoga, going for a run, and spoiling his big red tomcat Tommy.
He lives with his wife (and aforementioned cat) in a small village smack dab in the middle of absolutely nowhere and is probably writing his next ‘Mysteries of Max’ book right now.
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
Inspector Darian an avid ghost disbelieve comes face to face with a ghost, or does he?
Harry and Jarrett have not one but three cases of unrully ghosts in the same apartment building where Em and Darian live. Will they be able to find out what the ghosts want without getting slimmed? Lots of twists. Have fun reading the book.
Harry believes in ghosts and is joint operators of new founded Ghoul Wranglers. They help ghosts pass over. Her ex-boyfriend and his mother live in a ghost infested building and need their services even though he doesn't believe. To bad the ghosts believe in people.
A good follow up story to the first one. I love the characters. Nic Saint writes with a sense of humor that keeps your interest and guessing about the murders and who committed them. There are some surprises and lots of ghosts. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. Happy reading! 😊
I voluntarily leave an honest review regardless if I purchased the book or it was a gift...I really enjoyed this book.there are a few plot twists that really took me by surprise that I did not see coming...this is a very fun read, especially if you love ghost characters that enhance the story.
This one has a number of twists and turns and several surprises. It remains light reading however and there isn't much in the way of character development. Still it's readable, and a bit of fun on a lazy afternoon.
I think I just discovered one of my new favorite series. Between the ghosts, the police, the criminal mastermind and of course Wraith Wranglers this is an absolutely enjoyable read.
Harry gets involved with ghost murdered in a cold case of 35 years. The plot is filled with humor, surprises and twists. I like the characters. I like the series.
Who doesn’t enjoy a cold case, especially when it involves ghosts? This book provides surprises and laughter and a tantalizing mystery with some familiar characters. This second of the series to me is even better than the first one. 👍👍👍👍👍
