By Which We Are Saved: Sharing the Gospel with Confidence

Rate this book
Responding to the call to share the Gospel of Christ is an intimidating prospect in our "politically correct" society. In addition to concerns about causing offense, some Christians feel unprepared to answer questions and objections which may arise. "By Which We Are Saved" is an evangelism handbook to equip the body of Christ to share their faith with greater confidence. A detailed explanation of the Gospel will aid Christians in recognizing and addressing unbelief, and extensive biblical references allow the Bible to defend itself against objections. A section on communication will help facilitate and smooth biblical conversations, enabling Christians to incorporate evangelism more fully into daily life. By Which We are Saved is a complete handbook for • A thorough examination of the Gospel by which we are saved • Confidence builders for communicating • Concise responses to objections which arise when sharing the Gospel • Filled with scripture references, placing the emphasis on God’s answers

This book is an excellent resource for dealing with the objections that may arise when a Christian share their faith with another Christian, or someone who is not yet a Christian. Dealing with the who, what, where, how, and why of salvation from 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, and dealing with many of the contemporary objections, this book could be a resource to use in helping to contextualize the gospel and for helping believers who are convicted or passionate about witnessing. The book is careful to defend salvation by grace through faith alone. The only weakness of the book is that the objections tend to overlap, so some of the information is repeated over and again. Other than that, it is a good read with lots of scripture because the Bible is the only revelation God has given to us in order that we might know Him and be saved.

This book is exceptional. Its presentation of the Christian gospel of grace through faith alone is clear, detailed and precise. The index in the back is brilliant and makes the book easy and practical to use. The reviewer who complained of overlapping topics completely missed the point. This is a handbook for use in evangelism. For a handbook to be useful, necessary information must be in the section that the index brings you to. If the needed information is in a different section in order to avoid overlap, the user would not be able to find it. This is far from a weakness but is a necessity. Another strength is its encouragement to move away from structured approaches and just learn to talk to people and learn about what they believe. This book is hands-down the best evangelism resource I have ever found.
