Excerpt from Rhodes in Modern Times

The reason that certain early printed books are cited by name alone, is that they are not paginated. The Byzantine writers are cited by the volumes and pages of the Bonn editions, so far as these extend.

This had a lot of history packed into a very short space. Great read for research, but very dry and not recommended if looking for anything along the lines of narrative non-fiction. Although, if you're looking for a history of Rhodes post-classical period and pre-Ottoman takeover, this is one of your only options, so thank you Mr. Torr!
