As biographies go, this is a solid one. I felt like it had a little bit too much of "name-dropping"but the author is entitled to such moments, being such an accomplished man. I think this book would have more weight with me if I had read it during the time it was published--during apartheid South Africa. But I am reading this book nearly 40 years later and I feel like it has lost some of its punch.
