With prose as crisp as a Cape winter night, Rive lyrically captures the zeitgeist of apartheid resistance.

I'm giving it three stars not because it wasn't a good read but, having read two of Richard Rive's other books very recently, I feel there is a lot of repetition and similarity. If you've read Quartet, be warned that there are three short stories from that book, in this one. This book would be appreciated by someone new to his work.
