This was a delightful read because it is filled with personal anecdotes from a beekeeper of long experience. A few of the stories were only tangentially related to bees, yet they provide a fuller portrait of this lover of bees. But make no mistake, the book is also crammed with practical wisdom gleaned from many years of beekeeping. It is always wonderful to read a "living book" written by a true lover of its subject. The final chapter was so funny it had me chuckling aloud. The author's outlook on life was hilariously whimsical. He was truly a single-minded devotee to his craft, as his final words attest: "Love me--love my bees."
