The Netherland Dwarf rabbit is immensely popular in the UK and I have bred and exhibited them on and off for over 30 years now. This book was inspired by social media posts where breeders and owners expressed confusion or ignorance in either identifying the colour of their rabbits or requested information on what they would get if they crossed 2 x certain coloured rabbits or even sometimes what colour they should mate their rabbit to. A lot of misinformation often ensued with replies and so this book’s synopsis was born.

About the author

Divina grew up in Cornwall playing in the farm yard and learning all about animals and breeding/rearing from farmers, farm hands and vets. She cannot remember a time when there wasn’t an animal of some sort on her life. Her father, unusually, taught her to knit and her Nan to crochet though she never grasped the complexity of sewing. She went on to breed and exhibit budgerigars – cats – dogs and rabbits through her lifetime. Now in her late 50s’ Divina has published several animal genetic reference books with her book 'Colour & Pattern Varieties of the Netherland Dwarf Rabbit' being met worldwide with enthusiasm within Breeder circles as it fills a much needed gap in the market. It made No1 New Release on Amazon under the Pet category within the first week of its release and continues to be a ‘wish list’ purchase for rabbit lovers and breeders.
As there are only so many reference books you can write, Divina is now dipping her toe (or is that fingers?) into the world of fiction with her 2 book Big & Bootiful series (Bk 2 available on Lulu) and currently immersed in writing her next epic fantasy saga about myths, legends, love and Quests (Book 1 now available).

Excellent reference book

As I’m fairly new to the Netherland dwarf breeding world this book has proved invaluable in deciding on which colours to breed and what the breed standards are .
