The Lost City

Rate this book
Praise for Book 1 of the Joe Hawke series, Amazon UK #1 Men’s Adventure,
Amazon UK #1 Military Thriller,

“Similar type of adventures to Andy McDermott and Scott Mariani.”

“Great read. I really enjoyed this book, a great start to a new series.”

“Top notch action-adventure book. Excellent adventure book with plenty of action and suspense - the story idea is great too. It’s well edited - Rob Jones is a name to remember.”

The Lost City is the eighth part of the high-octane, heavy-action Joe Hawke series. Reeling from the terrible losses they suffered in their quest to locate Atlantis, the surviving members of the decimated ECHO team have no time to grieve when a long-lost artefact connected to the Lost Treasure of the Incas is found off the coast of Colombia.

With ECHO leader Sir Richard Eden deep in a coma, Ryan Bale missing-presumed-dead and their island sanctuary of Elysium reduced to smoking ruins, Joe Hawke must lead an exhausted and diminished team against an enemy intent on snatching the greatest treasure on earth and something far more sinister that has been lurking within it for centuries.

As ECHO struggle against the odds, only the deep friendship they have forged can keep them together at this most desperate of times. From Cartagena to the backstreets of Lima, from the ancient mystery of Machu Picchu to extinct Peruvian volcanoes and beyond, Hawke must work harder than ever to hold their world together.

Joe Hawke will return in THE SWORD OF FIRE.

8 books in and still can't put them down!

Excellent characters, who really _have_ character, convoluted deep plots, breathtaking action... I don't know how Rob Jones keeps it up, but somehow he does!
This latest was no exception. I was happy for the plot turn, even if I was completely surprised. Honestly, I can't recommend the entire series highly enough. Just be sure you have a few weeks set aside with no upcoming deadlines, because you will not want to stop once you get started.
This latest adventure kept them hopping across the world, but mostly in South America. Not content to just keep on treasure hunting the ECHO gang, takes on an old nemesis, and ancient secret and the safety of of the known world... if you like action adventure with excellent science backing it up, look no further.

Go introduce yourself to Joe Hawke, he's the affable englishman downing a pint over near the bar.

Rob Jones delivers yet again after the cliff hanger ending in Book 7, The Lost City takes on the trail of Kruger and some new allies of his in search of the Fabled Lost City of Gold but all is not what it seems. This is another none stop roller coaster of a ride. All we have to do now is wait for the next instalment. Keep up the great work Rob.

Great adventure.

As usual, once I picked up the book it was hard to put it down. It is true to the characters. I am looking forward to the next adventure.

A great series.

I have just finished ( in order and non stop) the Joe Hawke adventure series to date. I would recommend these books to all action lovers. The only thing that I would like to see is more meat to the story's. A fine job overall, keep it up Mr Jones...
