Explores sex education, puberty rituals, mate selection, courtship, the wedding night, birth control, adultery, and chastity in a variety of cultures throughout history
In information contained in this book is really interesting in itself, but it couldn't have been presented in a more boring way if it had come with an audio book read by Ben Stein. The construction of the book was poor and tedious to read. I hated all the random paragraphs with their one line intro complete with colon. Each paragraph was also inconsistent with regard to time, location, and where exactly the anecdote came from; basically the whole situ of the information (which is the purpose of the book if it's supposed to be a cross-cultural cross-historical look at sex). Also, where were the references, index, or bibliography?! I give it a hearty "Meh."
