I have looked at a few books on this topic and the style of this, in my opinion is a bit like an instruction manual, a quality some may not enjoy but one that I personally like.

I struggled through this book because there were enough valuable insights to make it seem worth it. It was written more like a work manual, which makes sense since the author is a human resource professional. The book had some good takeaways, particularly regarding listening, but I would have preferred an easier way to learn them than reading this whole book.
