Elixir Refused
On the field of Kurukshetra, an unnamed cadet takes part in the epic battle between the Pandavas and Kauravas. Like Arjuna, the cadet does not want to go to war, but he has no Sri Krishna for counsel. Or has he? At one point in the battle, he becomes separated from the other cadets and is given a there is no world and God is All. But is that reassuring? Doesn t that mean he does not exist? The cadet returns to the fray, with reticence, and eventually becomes a nurse, a step up in consciousness, but apparently not large enough, for when he is given a second vision of Truth, he rejects it. He paddles on.
