Never read a Holocaust survivor’s story from Rochester, NY before. Made it all that more personable. She was blessed to have found so many photos & the stories really bring it all to life.

I had to know when she died, as I figured she would be 99 shortly. I found it.

“Suss-Paull, Anna "Angie"
Chicago, IL: September 3, 2007. Age 84. Preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Suss and her husband, Milton Paull. Survived by her sons, David (Sue Rappaport) Suss & Ted (Nannette) Suss; her sister, Barbara Mand; grandchildren, Julie (Eric) Riley, Jason Suss, Erin, Cori & Jake Suss; great-granddaughters, Mackenzie & Emilie Riley and several nieces & nephews. Angie was a Holocaust Survivor who spoke to thousands of children in various cities over a 20-year period.”

I wish I had had the chance to meet her. Sounds like an amazing person. Breaks your heart to know what happened. I feel blessed she was willing to share this with us so we could know a little about what it was like.

Never again!

Btw - my first Holocaust book since the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic & it definitely puts a different spin on everything we have dealt with regarding the pandemic, kids missing school, etc.

I saw this book on a friend’s coffee table and asked to borrow it. After looking at the photos in the book I realized I knew some of the family members. An important read - so we never forget. This woman, Angie Susa Paul was remarkable.
I wish I had met her, as she lived in my home town. A true survivor and a lesson to most- when we think we have to complain about - read this book & you’ll count your blessings.
