Rate this book
Travel through time as a modern girl loses her heart to a 12th century Scottish warrior. Follow them as they battle their enemies and uncover each other’s secrets along the way.
After being dumped for the hundredth time, Mel decided that she needed a bit of excitement and adventure in her life. She was tired of being alone, and wondered if she would ever find the right man for her. So when her best friend wrote her a letter inviting her to spend the Christmas in 12th century Scotland, Mel couldn’t let the opportunity pass her by. She would soon learn that sometimes, excitement and adventure was not all it was cracked up to be.
Hamish has spent the last couple of years guarding a secret. A secret that he believed would likely get his family and those he loves killed. Resolutely vowing never to allow anyone close enough to be used as a pawn among the feuding clans, he keeps his loved ones at a distance. But that would all change the day a fiery, modern day lass enters his world. Will their love be strong enough to overcome the time barrier, enemies and secrets or will they be destined to spend the rest of their lives alone, wishing for something that couldn’t be?

This is the very first book that I have read on this genre (no kidding).
It's when tough meets rough... romance sparks and stays lit... ooh-la-la-kind-of-story.
And when you're into that sizzling hot and passionate plot, well this book is definitely for you.

Goodness me - I was completely enthralled by this book! A tale of history and magic, of evil forces and those trying to destroy them, of a modern young women and an ancient warrior, all entwined round a love so strong it transcends time.

Ceana - a spirited and independently minded young woman who, along with her brother and sister, manages a resort in the Gold Coast hinterland of Australia - has always known she was adopted, but has absolutely no idea of her heritage, something which is about to change with dramatic results. Eons away, a darkness threatens and the only person with the power to vanquish it, is Ceana. Kessan, a drop-dead gorgeous highlander is tasked with bringing Ceana home and travels from 12th century Scotland to find her - and so it begins.

YM Zachary weaves a captivating tale full of rich description and dynamic characters. Transitioning ancient peoples into a modern environment is challenging, yet Zachary does so seamlessly. The reaction of two highland warriors to all manner of devices and appliances we take for granted is very funny, mirrored when those from the twenty first century are drawn back through time back to medieval Scotland. Inevitably, Kessan and Ceana clash at regular intervals, but their growing love for each other creates an unbreakable bond. Whether they live to enjoy a HEA, or be consumed by their quest is a whole other matter.

Themes of loyalty, friendship, courage, grief, loss, love and hope run through this book, but the lively pace prevents any navel gazing or wallowing. This is Zachary's debut novel and I loved it especially as I too love the evocative history of Scotland. I look forward to more form this author.

History, magic and sexy highlanders - what's not to love? Highly recommended.

Not sure where to start on this one because there are so many bases to cover.

If you don't feel like reading my entire review then I'll hurry and say that if you love Scotland, historical romance, adventure, magic, and the idea of destiny... buy the friggin book!!!!!!!!

Between colorful characters and a killer plot, this book is bestseller material! All the pieces come together in the end and make for a dramatic BANG that leaves you breathless!

The destinations are exotic and the descriptions take you there without putting you to sleep. You are thrust into the action from page one and the spell lasts until the end page.

The main character Cee,was so my spirit animal! I loved her realistic temperament and spice! Her kick ass personality won me over instantly! I want to be her friend.

Side note: the humor in this book is snort laugh worthy. There were times I almost choked from laughing too hard. However!!!! The humor did NOT distract from the plot and was artistically placed more as comic relief.

Kessan is my new bedmate. I might need to have him drawn so I can cuddle with my imagination at night and my highlander. 21st century men might become less attractive after reading this...beware. You were warned.

As for the underlining point to the tale... family. Real love is not just blood but blood bonds are so special and this book tells of all those things.

I'm off to start book two because instant classics like this one deserve full commitment! It's also the sort of book that proves that readers live many lives! I certainly feel like it after reading this!

Five glorious stars!

This is the first book from author YM Zachery, and I am very pleased to say I loved it.
The storyline is great, a fantastic crossover. Time travel, Scotland to Australia, what more could you want. Beautiful headstrong young 21st century woman, strong handsome blue eyed Laird from the 12th century, a magical match.
Story holds your interest, and as it moves along you get clearer understandings of the main characters, and the role fate has in their lives. I will be honest I actually teared up at one point when a heartbreaking scene occurs between our heroine and her birth father. It brought the whole thing together and made the tale. Definitely recommend this book, if you want a great little jump into time travel and a Scottish Highlander or three steaming up the pages
Cannot wait to read book 2 in this series .

This is a very nice twist on time travel. I loved how Ceana knew she was different and was able to adjust to the things life threw at her. Scottish history hinges on how she responds when Kessan walks through her doorway and into her modern life. The history and research done for this novel made me certain that I had stepped back in time and could really visualize the Scottish land before technology could corrupt it. I am anxiously looking forward to reading more about Ceana's siblings and how they find love somewhere in time.

First time I read something by this author, but it won't be my last. 😊
One of my favourite authors is Diana Gabaldon who also writes about Highlanders and in a historic view. Now I have two!!!
It's not always easy to jump between time, but this story really worked.
The carachters - not only Ceana and Kessan, but also the rest of the siblings were described very well.
I got stuck in the story. Can't wait for the next time I read something by Y M Zachery.

This book swept me away to another time. I wished that I had a burning fire that I could have curled up in front oft with this book because that is exactly what this book makes you want to do. It is a fun, perfect romance with everything you need to feel good and have that gooey filling inside when you read a good romance. I loved all the characters and I cannot wait for this series to continue.

I don't usually read historical romance, but this book changed my perspective. I love how this book introduced me to the past, that as if I existed during that time too. I laughed a lot and I fell in love. Amazing!

Wow, this book was amazing, what a ride...I am exhausted. When Mel receives a letter from her best friend inviting her to enjoy Christmas in 12th century Scotland. Once she has recovered from the whole travelling through a time portal thing, Mel meets Hamish, her best friend's brother, and sparks fly. Mel - rather bruised and jaded where men are concerned - is not about to let anyone dictate to her let alone this tall, and extraordinarily handsome laird. Just when things take a very interesting turn, a chance encounter, sets off a chain of events, which might have tragic consequences. Mel becomes embroiled in the vicious conflict between two powerful Scottish clans and has to use every drop of her fiery spirit to stay alive.

This is a well researched and beautifully written story, which transports you to the lush green glens of Scotland, and where we meet an abundance of fascinating characters. The plot unfolds rapidly and I was totally engrossed from the first chapter to the last page. Excellent job Ms Zachary - I was lost in another world, I became part of their lives - and for me that is the mark of a great book.

EXCELLENT!!!!!

Adventure
Thrills
Romance
Lust
Family
Danger
Heat

This book has them all, and it was a well executed plot that flowed along!

I love the characters, new AND old.
I tend to be #TeamKessen from book one because if you read book one you should know why. Kessan is my highlander dream husband. However, Hamish makes a perfect second and his voice in this book was deserved. I adored him in book one so I was glad the Author gave us more of his story.

Mel is an icon of the modern woman! So out of place in the 12th century and lending spice and hell-fire to every situation!!!! Her sass kept the book moving at a FANTASTIC pace.

Dark! So dark! This read gets deliciously dark and Zachary isn't afraid to commit to a character's role. Meaning, it's not done half way, everything is given full effect. I felt scared when I was supposed to, miserable during others, and held my breath a lot.

I recommend this book to anyone wanting a touch of adventure like Mel. Five lovely stars!

This is the second book in the Moment In Time series and i was not disappointed. We begin just before the ending scene in book 1.
Once again we travel back in time, meeting old friends and new lovers, headstrong opinionated Mel, ignites a fire in Hamish, that he never expected to feel for any woman. But secrets, enemies, adventure, danger, and being from a different century, conspire to keep them apart. But a hot steamy Highlander, will move heaven and earth for this woman who makes him burn for her touch, and she cannot deny her desire for him.
Once more the storyline is great, the characters are full and well written, description of the countryside is wonderful. Its a brilliant time travelling love story, full of detail and adventure, totally recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful read

A page turner for sure! I started the book when I boarded an international flight and before I knew it I was on the last page. It felt like an eternity had passed since I opened the cover, but on checking with the flight attendant I was told we'd only been in the air for 5 hours! Yvette transported me so completely into her world that time slowed down - not something many books can do nowadays.
The plot was an interesting take on the historical time travel niche and the dialogue was witty in just the right spots.
A great read and a definite recommendation to take with you on a journey (albeit a short one- this won't take long to read once you're a chapter or two in).
