With a biracial child on the front cover, I was expecting more diversity in hair types in the book. Nope. All fine hair, with the exception of the one cover child, and two with mildly curly/wavy hair. Want to know how to frustrate African American parents? Use the child of color on the cover, but none in the book.

This is an excellent book full of kid-friendly hairstyles. There is a lot of basic information, so it's especially great for beginners to hair styling. The only thing that would make this better is if it were expanded to include more styles for different hair lengths and hair types.

We have done a few of the hair styles and they were pretty. The instructions are easy to follow for moms and kids.

Got this book for my daughter because she loves doing her hair. Ended up reading it myself because she wanted some hairdos done on her hair. I am basically a moron when it comes to doing hair, but this book made it possible for me to actually complete some styles! The directions are simple and show each step. There are a variety of styles in the book from easy to advanced, I'm sure there isn't a lot of new styles in the book, but it was perfect for someone who is just starting to learn to do hair!
