This work provides information on contemporary international developments in minimal tissue intervention methods, including the use of fluoride, ozone and mild chemical treatments. In particular, the safety and efficacy of a novel chemomechanical agent, Carisolv, is described. In addition, the text describes future trends in caries treatment, including a discussion about the possibility of using DNA chip analyses in dentistry.
