1549 was the year of Kett's Rebellion when thousands of of ordinary people protested against the enclosure of common land by wealthy landowners. This is the story of the rebellion told by Robert Kett himself. His story is interspersed with a tender love story which begins with the fall of a single snowflake.

An unusual novel centred on Kett's Rebellion of 1549. Two stories, one focused on Kett's soul as he recounts, backwards, the story of the Rebellion and his involvement. The other is a love story based on two relatively well off figures living near Norwich. While in places slightly strange, for those who know the history of 1549 this is quite an entertaining book that deserves a wider readership.
