About the author

With the unique combination of being a best selling travel writer of guide books on camping, successful international Entrepreneur and extensively published academic, Dr. Jayne Seagrave is an eclectic woman who has a wealth of experience and talents in a number of areas. Her infectious personal attributes coupled with a energy, enthusiasm, joie de vive and desire to convey her knowledge and experience to others has resulted in a diverse career.

Although primarily an entrepreneur, Jayne is probably best known as a travel writer with extensive expertise on camping in Western Canada. Over 50,000 copies of her guide books have been sold, making her one of British Columbias best selling guide book authors.

She has also written a guide to women who wish to travel alone: Time to Take Flight: The Savvy Woman's Guide to Safe Solo Travel. In 2017 she published a work detailing the growth of one of Canada's most successful theatre companies entitled: all the World's a Stage: The Story of Vancouver's Bard on the Beach.

In 2021 her first work of fiction was published: The Games Women Use. This is the story of four women who meet at the start of their adult lives and become lifelong friends. Set against the swirling activities of four Olympics (Vancouver, London, Sochi and Tokyo) and culminating in Beijing during 2022 during the winter games, the four friends regularly get together to share their individual experiences, achievements, failures, goals and setbacks. What they rarely discuss are the events that lead to the deaths of those once closest to them.

Get out there and explore this gorgeous province and territory! This is the 8th edition of Camping British Columbia, the Rockies and Yukon. With this lengthy publication and record of updating, you can be sure this guide will help you find just the right provincial park, whether you are after a rock climbing haven or a destination lakeside summer holiday stay. It's organized by region but includes lists of parks by interests or activity. And it's an opinionated guide, which I like. Black and white photos help keep the cost down. There are checklists and camping tips too. Toss a copy into your car or backpack, and get out there!
