Hansten and Horn’s The Top 100 Drug Interactions has been expanded for 2006 to include about 3200 individual drug-drug interactions in a 230+ page, pocket-sized booklet. Interactions have been selected for inclusion based on their potential to cause patient harm. Each interaction monograph includes a brief summary of the interaction and specific recommendations on how to avoid possible adverse patient outcomes by proper management of the potential interaction.
I found this book to be valuable in my studies, especially as I first started to really understand the intricacies of managing drug interactions within a patient's profile. While the depth of information is lacking, particularly for less common or newer drugs, it is a good base upon which to build.
