It worked for me this way: I first read Roy Huff's book “Think Smart Not Hard: 52 Key Principles to Success and Happiness”, which motivated me for specific actions, and this book gave me a step-by-step instructions for those actions: What a combination!
The book is like a personal success story, telling how the two authors Christo and Franziska manage to make their customers happy, while they enjoy their dream life thanks to their hard-initial work during the beginning months setting up the right environment for the business. You read this book, and you will realize it's really possible when you pick the right strategies from this book that fit your circumstances. But clearly there are some special kinds of businesses that don’t fit in the strategies, so I will stay focused on the benefits "in general" learned from this book.
The book indeed offers many such great tips for marketing without having to have a million-dollar budget for all different sorts of businesses, especially for those individuals like "small business owners" who in general don't have budget like big companies for national TV ads.!
Plus, from page to page in-between those great marketing advices, there are hyperlinks to the authors' own business (small-business consulting) website that offers more information like free on-line marketing course.
What I really like about this book is its storytelling opening of each chapter, so readers can easily understand the topic points and lectures to move on fast without starting each chapter bored.
This is not your ordinary Marketing book. I'm guessing the writing style is a reflection of both the authors personalities and the way they conduct their businesses. Yes its different, it may not be everybody's cup of tea but telling stories and using allegories is a good way to get your point across and as long as you get the point then no foul. I've read a lot of Marketing books that cover amongst them all the topics covered in this one, however this is the first time I have ever had it presented in this way and the way its done makes it easy for anyone to just "get it" and its for that reason that this book works. So in conclusion, its a different way of getting the message across and getting the message across is definitely what this book does. So even if you know nothing about marketing, read this book and you'll walk away feeling like an expert.
Disclosure: I was offered a free copy of this book by the author in return for an honest review.
