After helping Beth Gale put fresh flowers on a number of graves in Frontier Falls cemetery, young Ray Panton fell asleep on Boot Hill and on waking, accidentally overheard a lethal confrontation near a grave. Although he slipped away, the small items he left behind suggested he and Beth had witnessed a murder and they were haunted by hired killers.
