Danielle was still shaking. Her mind raced trying to process all that had just taken place. She was a laid back Virginia girl and had never seen anyone get shot before, let alone die in front of her eyes. She couldn’t believe it. She had finally met a man she really liked and then all hell breaks loose. Her thoughts and prayers were with Frank, of course, but she couldn’t get the image of Emily killing Grigori out of her head. She assumed Emily was some kind of undercover cop or FBI agent, but she wasn’t sure and she desperately needed to know. Here she was riding in the back seat of a car with two people she barely knew, racing to a hospital in hopes that the man she had met today, the man she kissed just hours ago, would live to see another day. In Hidden Thrones, Book Face to Face, activity in supernatural world continues to stir, as Senator Wellsenburg, guided by the dark council of Dante Adal, takes one step closer to the White House. Despite the fiery darts of the enemy Jack and Emily discover new depths of their love for each other, while Danielle becomes not only part of Frank’s life, but a big part of this unique band of warriors.
A frequent lecturer in Biblical Prophecy, Russ brings a lifetime of technical expertise to a story he believes may very well be the substance of tomorrow's headlines. "On the Edge of Time" began in 1994 as a 50-page short story named for the newspaper the protagonist writes for, "Chronicles of the End Times." After a few years, Russ resumed writing with Steve Mamchak and ultimately split the completed novel "On the Edge of Time" into two captivating parts.
Russ's new series HIDDEN THRONES is an exciting thriller pitting demons and angels in a battle for control of planet earth.
In the 1960's and 70's, Russ Scalzo was the front man for The Hallmarks, a band popular along the Jersey Shore, and scored a record contract with Mercury Records. After a life changing decision, he went from performing in bars to ministering in churches and touring the country with his band, Saved By Grace. He has written too many songs to count, including music for several original musicals. He is the co-founder and president of a non-profit Christian theater company based in New Jersey, Lighthouse Stage Productions.
Russ currently serves as a teacher and elder at Searchlight Church. He resides on the Jersey Shore with his wife of 40+ years. He is a father of three and grandfather of five.
For the most part, some of the issues I had with the first two books, got a little bit better. The operative words are: 'for the most part'!
All the couples continue to kiss on the first date, and of course the kissing hugs, etc. continue to be expounded on for the 2nd and 3rd dates etc.
I have already explained ( in reviewing book one and two), why I thought that was not the best example for Christian behavior.
Still, other things did get better.
I really liked the Bible quotes, and how they were applied to the characters lives.
It is still way too Pentecostal/Charismatic for me! However, the fighting demons ( at least in this book) , did get toned down.
The author once again, reiterated that it is God and Jesus, that have authority over demons...not man.
Nevertheless, believers can call out to the Lord for help.
This book in the series came out in 2016, but in a strange and erriely way, the politics and social changes, etc. could be about today in 2024.
I do believe there is in fact, a war in the spiritual realm, and it is invading more and more, the 'natural world'.
This spiritual war is heating up, more and more, as the end times are upon us.
So yes, the demons are coming out of the abyss, like we have not had, after the time Jesus walked on the earth.
I found the talk about Cern also interesting, and other historical information etc. to be intriguing.
I am not sure, tho, if I had known ahead of time, that one of the main focus points would be about demons, if I would have started reading this series.
Regardless, I hate to quit on any novel ( be it a stand alone or a series) unless it is absolutely, in my opinion, abhorrent.
This is well written, good character development, sometimes it has, very solid biblical principals, etc.
So unless it takes a turn for the very worst, I will most likely finish the series.
Messianic Jews and Evangelical Christians united, literally
I am so excited to find an author willing to actively declare Eph2 so completely within the bounds of a fantastic story. From verse2's declaration re: prince of the power of the air's warfare on believers to verse15's "one new man" made from connection of Jew and Gentile, I'm loving it. The message of unity in prayer for our world by those YHWH has chosen as precious to HIM, done right, is exactly the kind of books we need. I would like it if Emily would further introduce "clean" eating and the beauty of the connections to Christianity of the High Holy Days to Bennett, especially Tabernacles/Sukkot because its clearly a celebration of all nations coming together under Messiah, but I haven't read book4 yet. I'm about to start it. If. Tabernacles principles not introduced in book4, any chances on a 5th book? icej.org is a great place to start for more information. Plus turkey and beef bacon or beef&turkey mixed together taste fantastic in chilis, stuffed peppers, yummmm
This book was excellent. It was well written. It flows from the beginning till the end and it’s not easy to put down. I would recommend it for those teenage end up. The author does a great job with this story. Anyone who gets this book, I guarantee you you will not regret it.
The day to day life of people on the front lines. The risks and supernatural happenings keep the characters moving, trying to stay ahead of the evil in this world. Storyline is consistent and interesting, the characters are relatable and flawed; all in all a satisfying read.
Unbelievable read. Once again I’m enjoying reading such a wonderful story. I know you’ll enjoy it as much as I have. Now on to book 4, I cannot wait!!!
Writing a Christian novel has to be a very tough thing to do. Balancing God's words and a good storyline at the same time to keep a reader's interest. Russ does this beautifully. Technically this is fiction but in the future I feel something like this will transpire here in the US. I look forward to book 4
