About the author
Mimi Foster
9 books79 followersBy day, Mimi Foster is an award-winning Realtor helping people find their dream homes in beautiful Colorado Springs. By the quiet light of early mornings, she slips into another world, writing steamy, emotional romances where love always wins.
A fifth-generation Floridian who has called Colorado home for more than fifty years, Mimi writes contemporary and historical romance set in a world that keeps growing. Her Thunder on the Mountain trilogy and Leaving the Game series share a Colorado mountain, a connected family, and an evolving love story that spans generations — from the 1890s gold rush all the way to a present-day Major League pitcher hiding from his own grief.
Her standalone, Maisy's Mirror, is a tender ghost love story set on the coast of Maine, the one book that lives outside the universe and remains a reader favorite.
Mimi started writing in 2013, then life arrived in the form of a year of chemo, a global pandemic, a house fire, a tree through the roof, the loss of beloved family members, and what she affectionately calls The Unicorn Years, when her real estate business took off in never-before-seen ways and she barely came up for air. She set her pen down for a while.
When she came back to it, she rewrote Stealing Runner's Heart, gave Maisy's Mirror the epilogue it always deserved, and finished In the Strike Zone. She's writing on purpose again.
Mimi is the proud mother of five daughters, grandmother to five grands, and a cherished friend to many, loved for her warmth, humor, and genuine heart. She and her husband share a relationship grounded in laughter, respect, and the kind of love that inspires her stories. She writes about people who have been broken and are learning to live again - because she's lived it.
When she isn't writing or helping clients find home, you'll find Mimi with her camera, surrounded by family, dreaming up her next love story.

Ok I'm not going to lie here, I read the description and thought this really didn't sound like my kind of book, but because I really loved Mimi Foster's other books I decided I would download a sample and just see if it hooked me. So I read it and was really interested in finding out what in the world was going on. As I was reading I was more and more invested in Maisy and Wills. I loved how this story unfolded. It was heartbreaking at times, funny in others, and completely and utterly heartwarming in most. I want to make sure you hear me when I say this, THE DESCRIPTION OF THIS BOOK DOES NOT DO IT JUSTICE. Don't pass on this book because you think it doesn't sound like your kind of book. I really believed it wasn't mine, but I promise you will be wrong just like I was. This book is for you. This story is beautifully written. I'm telling you to read it because it really is amazing. You won't regret it. This one is easily a 5 star read!

Amazing Clean Romance
This was such an amazing story. I loved how the past wrote the present.
Maisy is hurting and a recluse in her new house. She’s starting to slowly heal when a ghost of the owner of the house appears to her in the family mirror.wills needs her to tell his story to help him move on. Can she do it? She’s had doubts about her writing, but Wills believes in her. Can you fall in love with a ghost?
I really enjoyed this novel. I couldn’t wait to read how it progressed. It keeps you engaged so much you won’t want to put it den. A definite must read.

This is the first book I've read written by Mimi Foster and can honestly say I now have a new favorite author. You can read about the story on some of the other reviews. I want to say that I love how Mimi developed this creative story and characters. I simply enjoyed her writing style and the wisdom imparted within the story. I will definitely be reading more of Mimi Foster's books!

I received this book as an ARC thru Good reads.
I would have read this book in a day if I hadn’t been on vacation and continually interrupted with adventures that wore me out. I don’t like to verge on giving spoilers or swaying others to believe the way I saw the story but I absolutely loved it and it was unexpected to me.
I didn’t read the blurb on what this book was about before I started reading it, because I like to go in blind and discover the book as I read. So when I first saw the cover and I started reading the book, I thought we were looking at a bit of Vincent Price, Gothic thriller or Portrait of Dorian Gray. I was pleasantly surprised to see it evolve into a beautiful mystical romance.
Add in just a tid bit of Count of Monte Crisco with a twist on a smaller scale. I was completely in love with the story. Why haven’t more people read this book? I highly recommend this little gem.

I received this book through a Goodreads giveaway. Mimi Foster is an excellent writer, and I loved this story. It brought tears to my eyes at times. It was a great story about healing in mind body and soul for Maisy who was in a serious car accident years before the real story began. It had a good ending as a love story.

I loved this story.
Maisy is a widow who has purchased a cottage after a tragic accident that takes her husband. She isolates herself and tries to forget there is a world outside her small home and surrounding area. She starts to see a man in her mirror and it goes from there. I love their relationship and I really feel for Maisy . I also enjoyed that she was a writer it was a unique twist to the story. I really became invested in both the characters and honestly that surprised me as the story is fairly short. I want to read more from Mimi Forster!!

A delightful fantasy romance! Timeless as the story plays out across generations with intriguing plot twist and turns. I loved the underlying scenarios of love and betrayal that were both devastating and life changing. I enjoyed the main characters that were both tragic and strong at the same time. A good read.

When I read the description of the book, I didn't think I would like it as it wasn't what I normally read. Have to say, I couldn't put it down! I wanted to know what happened to Wills and loved watching Maisy grow. Lots of twists and turns bring the past to the present time. Well written book and very descriptive.
