A Man of Character
This is the first book I read from this author but no where near the last! I fell in love right away, from the very first pages. I love the unpredictability of this book. The concept of writing a person that comes to life is a crazy one, but one I am sure avid readers have wished to do at times. The main character, Cat, finds out throughout this story that she has the ability to do just that! So as not to dish out spoilers, I won’t say how she finds out or what she does in turn. The side characters are just as strongly detailed as the main, and I could picture myself in the settings too, they are described so well! As a side bonus, there are little references to well known books and songs that will make you smile. There is plenty of humor and whit mixed in, as well as serious moments that pull you in even more! A definite must read!
A Matter of Time
In the first book, Cat is the main character and Eliza her best friend. This is Eliza’s story and written just as well. The magic continues through a manuscript and a very dear friend. Eliza got her wish to be in the 1800’s, but it is no easy thing! She must overcome so much. Not just the things we take for granted in our time, but the different classes in society and what is proper or not. While learning and adjusting to all of this, she has a duke to get to know and he just wont sit still! This author has a great way of bringing in details that allow you to sink right into the book. The character details and setting details are done so well everything is easy to see in the minds eye. As with book one, there are references to modern day fairy tales, movies, songs and books that will make you smile. A great anytime read!
A Scandalous Matter
This is Amara’s story, and boy does she have one! Her back story starts in the 2nd book and as a woman in 1813, even one in high society, she has had her share of problems. She believes the future is the place for her. Through the magic of a manuscript and future friend, she has her chance. I love how well the author portrays the reaction of a person from the past finding themselves in 2016. Even knowing some things, the shock of seeing those things and more play havoc on poor Amara as she adjusts. Although she has setbacks, she is determined to make this work. She has extra help adjusting though…not just from Cat and her husband, but from one sexy professor. I thoroughly enjoyed this book to the point I did pretty much nothing but read! I truly hope this is one very long running series by this fantastic author!
