What I like best about this thin book is that it has so many beautiful pictures of some of the best crop formations.
There are, however, no detailed theories presented about the creation of these structures. The author quickly writes about some hoaxed and other man-made formations, but nothing is really told about how the "real" formations could have been formed.

The book does go into more detail about the effects of the formations on people (physically and emotionally), machines, and animals. The author writes that she has done some research with flasks of water she buried inside and outside formations and that she has had them tested in a laboratory. Since this is her own research, she could have gone into more detail about the results of this work, but she just states that some differences were shown in for example bacterial growth. She does not say whether it was more or less inside the formations.

This is a severely missed chance of the author to give more than a few stories and some good foto's (the majority of which she made herself!).

Finally, the author repeatedly refers to herself as "the author" which I found a bit odd and annoying.
